Unit 1 Reflection - Trends & Challenges in Teaching Writing.
I enjoyed this mainly because I learned a lot of Trends in Teaching Writing.
The writing techniques I found most interesting were Digital Storytelling, Gallery Walk,Peer Assistance,Think Alouds for Writing.
I presented on Process Writing Approach.
As a group (Rhonda, Shellomane, Matrisha & myself) presented the topic /challenge Many processes are required at the same time.... focusing on Think Alouds.
We discussed seven challenges to teaching writing...two of which are Writing requires simultaneous co-ordination skills (vocabulary, spelling, organizing ideas, reading) and Many processes are required at the same time (reading, writing and thinking).

This as truly a challenge. The strategies learnt will be very useful.
